Brand Photography for Doulas and Lactation Consultants | Jessica in Chelsea, Quebec

When it’s time to update your socials (see that? a little Gen X getting with the times there) or your website, photos can have an impact. If you want a cohesive vibe to your online presence, professional brand photography can really take things up a notch.

I met Jessica from Chelsea Lactation and Postpartum in Chelsea, Quebec (what do you know?) after a snowstorm the night before - but don’t worry, folks, that only made the session more beautiful!

Your Business Portrait Session can feature the town you work in!

When potential clients see landmarks or popular spots in your photos, it sparks conversations and comments on your posts!

Framing your photos with recognizable shops or streets is a great way to clarify where you are - and for those of you who work with me for business marketing, you know I’m gonna ask you to do that all the time!! Let your photos do it for you!

Don’t Shy Away from Winter Portraits!

Winter (especially after a snowstorm like we just had) offers a beautiful setting for photos. The snow disperses the light and softens shadows. Snow adds flair and uniqueness that not everyone has in their images.

When your dream client sees that you aren’t afraid of a little Ottawa-Gatineau-Chelsea weather, they might know you are for them! When they see you enjoying a coffee in their favourite cafe too, they may be even more curious about reaching out to you!

Winter does pose some challenges, but on the right day, with a little flexibility in your timing, winter is amazing for photos!

We can be inside for a while too…perhaps over a latte.

It’s always nice to spend some time getting to know each other (or visiting again!) over a latte or tea before we head outside. I know it can be uncomfortable to be in front of the camera or be the centre of attention.

I will guide and coach you as needed so we can get great photos, and I promise you will feel more comfortable as the session goes on. That is why sessions are two hours long - lots of time to settle in and get some beautiful photos that capture your true essence.

The walls at this awesome cafe (a favourite of both Jessica and me - Biscotti & cie) are bright red-orange…which is a lot and not in line with where we were going with Jessica’s photos, so the vision I held before we took the photos was that I would be editing them in black and white.

After years of photography, sometimes I just “know” what a photo will look like before we start taking photos. These turned out how I hoped. (Again, winter light for the win!)

If you are in the Wakefield, Chelsea, Outaouais area, please reach out for outdoor portraits for your doula, lactation consultant, or post-partum support business. With 12+ years as a birth photographer behind me, I get it & I would be honoured to support your important work with photos that feel like you!
